INTEREST OF ABS ESD KIMYA FILAMENT WHAT IS ELECTROSTATIC DISCHARGE ?
When two different electrical potencial objects (e.g a conductor and an insulator) come into contact, electrostatic discharges are generated from the elements that has the most electrons (-) to the one that has the least (+).
Electrostatic discharges build-up can cause damages to electronic systems, create fire and personal safety hazards.
It is necessary to work in an environment with dissipating materials ie neither conductors nor insulators (surface resistivity between 106 and 109 ohms/m2) in order to create a slow enough discharge to avoid damages.
| SURFACE RESISTIVITY MEASUREMENTS
Surface resistivity measurements are carried out according to the ASTM D257 standard on 3D printed discs with a diameter of 80 mm and a thickness of 2 mm.
During our productions, we control our ABS ESD Kimya filaments to obtain a surface resistivity between 106 - 109 ohms/m2.
