Trak Nova gives you two ways to scan in one kit. Dynamic tracking handles confined spaces and fine detail without markers, and the detachable wide-range scanner sweeps whole vehicles and machines fast. The data fuses into one model.

Dynamic tracking

Marker-free scanning in tight spaces.

The tracker follows the scanner in real time, so most parts need no markers. With its compact, wireless design it gets fine detail in confined spaces, like engine bays and cabins.

Flexible & separable

The tracker is also a handheld.

Detach the wide-range scanner and you've got the biggest handheld laser field of view on the market, 2.6 × 2.2m, for sweeping large surfaces fast. Then fuse it with tracked detail scans.

Video photogrammetry (VPG)

Accuracy that holds on big parts.

VPG verifies markers with video and a calibration rod, with no coded targets, extending accuracy to 0.046 + 0.012 mm/m over large volumes. Photogrammetry works out to 3.5m.

Wireless modules stream data in real time with high frame rates, and computing modules in both the tracker and the wide-range scanner keep processing fast.

Which tracking system?

Trak Nova vs. Trak Pro W

Both track the scanner optically, so most parts need no markers. Trak Nova is the portable, modular kit that also works as a handheld. Trak Pro W has a bigger tracker for longer range and bigger single-station volumes, like whole vehicles and machinery.

Quick answers

Does it need markers?

Not for most parts. Dynamic tracking follows the scanner, not markers on the part. Very large surfaces may still benefit from markers for the best accuracy.

How long do the batteries last?

In wireless mode the TE Nova runs up to 2.5 hours and the UE Nova about 1 hour, on standard swappable batteries.

Do I need a router?

Yes, for wireless mode, and one comes in the package. Wi-Fi 6 is recommended if you use your own.

Does wireless hurt accuracy?

No. Wi-Fi only carries the data. The measuring happens in the scanner, so you get the same accuracy wireless or plugged in.

What's volumetric accuracy?

It's accuracy across the whole measured volume, not single points, and it shows how error builds up over a big part. Trak Nova holds 0.062mm over 12 m³, and 0.046 + 0.012 mm/m with VPG.

Trak Nova or Trak Pro W?

Trak Nova for portability and flexibility, including handheld use. Trak Pro W for longer range and bigger single-station volumes. Book a demo and we'll show you both.

Is the accuracy certified and traceable?

Yes. Every unit is calibrated in Shining 3D's ISO/IEC 17025 accredited accuracy lab and verified to VDI/VDE 2634 and ISO 10360, with an inspection report and calibration certificate traceable to those standards.

Can I finance it or buy on a PO?

Yes. We quote on company letterhead for POs, and we can set up financing or leasing. Request a quote and tell us how you want to buy.
