QUICK ANSWERS

Rigil or Rigil Lite?

If you scan big things -- vehicles, body panels, large assemblies -- get the Rigil. 25+25 laser lines and 4.8M pts/sec means fewer passes and less time per part. If you mostly scan smaller parts and want the wireless platform for less, the Lite does the job.

Does software come with the scanner?

The Rigil ships with Shining 3D scanning software -- scan, merge, clean up and export STL, OBJ, PLY, 3MF or ASC. CAD and inspection software (ExModel Pro, Design X Go, Control X) are add-ons in step 2.

Do I need a computer?

No. Scan, process and export on the scanner itself. Plug into a PC (cable or Wi-Fi) when you want faster processing on huge scans or the full editing tools -- that needs an NVIDIA graphics card.

Do I need spray?

Usually not. Blue laser mode handles black, shiny and metallic surfaces. For the occasional really nasty part, AESUB spray is in the box -- and it sublimates away on its own, no cleanup.

Do I need markers?

Not always. IR mode and feature alignment work marker-free. For the best accuracy on large or featureless parts, markers help -- and the free Pro Accessory Kit has plenty to start.

Does it really work outside?

Yes. Rigil is built to scan in direct sunlight -- no tent, no shade, no waiting until dusk.

Which software do I need for CAD?

The scanner gives you a mesh (STL, OBJ, PLY, 3MF, ASC). To turn it into editable CAD, add ExModel Pro or Design X Go. To compare a part against CAD for QA, add Control X Essentials. Not sure? Call us -- we'll tell you straight.
