Who is Medixa for?

O&P clinics moving away from plaster: cranial helmets, prosthetic sockets, scoliosis braces, upper-limb prostheses, foot orthoses and seating.

Do I need a computer?

No. The computer, 6.4" screen and batteries are built in. Scan, check the model and export on the device.

How accurate is it?

Shining 3D specifies RMS under 0.3mm for body scanning, with point distance down to 0.2mm. That's built for O&P devices, not machined-part metrology.

What if the patient moves?

Movement compensation corrects small shifts during the scan, like an infant turning or a chest moving with each breath.

How long does a scan take?

Seconds for most body parts. Shining 3D quotes about 30 seconds for a cranial scan, versus about 30 minutes to cast.

How is it powered?

Two swappable 5500mAh batteries give up to 3 hours of scanning, and it charges over USB-C while in use.

Can I try one before I buy?
