This video overviews the process of printing a dental mold in PEEK, removing it from the bed, and post-processing - removing the brim. Parts can also be annealed, for extra strength, but this is not always necessary.
Printed at 0.1mm (100 micron) layer height, the details are astounding. A 400C nozzle temp, 160C heated bed, and 90C temperature-controlled chamber were used for this print.
Working with doctors and orthodontists, we've found that using the higher-quality PEEK material at 100 microns actually yields a better result than PLA at lower resolutions. Polyether Ether Keytone filament is a breed of it's own -- with an extremely high melting point around 343 °C (662 °F), and a glass transition point at 143 °C (289 °F), printing is different from other filaments.
